The Lighting/Sound Design Internship is a 12-month position beginning in June with a possible extension of up to two years. Under the supervision of the Resident Lighting/Sound Designer, the Lighting/Sound Design Intern will have the opportunity to design lights, sound, and/or special effects for up to six productions each season. The remainder of the duties includes assisting other lighting and sound designers with crew training, serving as Master Electrician and assisting with daily production and maintenance. This position is ideal for learning how to realize designs creatively, effectively, and within a reasonable budget. In addition to honing design skills, the Lighting/Sound Design Intern will be exposed to the basics of pyrotechnics and the basics of sound cue creation for the stage.
